Creative Cebu TubodFest

7th March 2009 Ayala Terraces 

TubodFest (tubod is Ce-buano for spring) will feature 10 identified creative sectors—arts, architecture and interior design, industrial and furniture design, fashion design, interactive, print, dance and performing arts, music, film and culinary. 

Creative Cebu is an initiative of the British Council under their Creative Cities program. Through a mapping process, the Creative Cities program aims to establish a creative entrepreneur network and to quantify creative output “from the artist to the entrepreneur, and every creative being in between.” It is aimed at encouraging the creative sector with an understanding that the latter can be one of the fastest growing segments that plays an important role in most, if not all, industries and segments of a country’s economy.

baby project # 1: my very first baby bootie

My very first attempt to sew a baby bootie by hand. Imperfect, humble, raw, sewn with love. It's funny and akward but I'm proud of it's courage. It's only a left bootie because I decided I need to make one that's at least worthy of my little baby before I do a pair. *Thank you Akii for trying it on :)

that first giggle.

He gave out his first giggle today! The day he turned 5 months old! It was soooo heavenly! My heart could only jump and break into bits. I couldn't let it out for the third time that's why I didn't get to take a photo or video of his hilarious face. Oh well. I still have to master my tickles and funny moves. I love you Akii from inside and out, from top to toes! 

By the way, he laughs at this: "aaaaa..bobobobommkkkk!" Hahaha silly love.

Stitched In Time

Finally, my 2.7yo son has drifted off to dreamland after a milk battle - that is, me not falling for his milk demand after getting 12oz of it! We had a good fight, he cried and I remained firm, then he cried and insisted again, and still I remained firm, and then he throws up and sleeps. Argh!

Even if that bedtime situation is putting me to a fist, I am floating - or flying - high with tiny love sparks beneath me. No, Mr. Valentine's Day is not responsible for this feeling. It's a call from my husband asking me if I want this book:

Yes I do! I do! I do want that book!!! Stitched In Time by Alicia Paulson. My heart danced with my little faeries and they all cheered me a big whohoooo! I can't wait to start new crafty projects! This pretty book is coming home together with my husband on the 22nd :) I just love unplanned surprises!

Cue: Love!

My one and only diva friend Tishoo Sanchez - now Cue - sweetly asked me if I could design-dance their wedding album. How can I say no to this kind of fun? I blushed and said I would be delighted!

Rhaya becomes a TWOdler!

To our little curly bug-angel, Rhaya. We wish you lots of doodles, crazy crayon-love all over your home, adventures, fun princess fairytales. Tita Dimpola loves you with all the fireflies and bees, and dragonflies in the world! (that means i love you so much. hehe.)

hurray for hopes

We took my baby for his work up last friday due to his recurring UTI. I was nervous for him to get an ultrasound although I know it wouldn't hurt a tiny bit. I did not know what to expect but deep down I was hopeful. I know it's going to be alright. 

Today was an extra special day for us. We went to Sto. Nino church and gave our big "thank you!" for my baby's little miracle. The tests confirmed that he was ok - that his kidneys and bladder were good. The plan was just to drink lots of water, no more dipees, monthly urine analysis. And if - God forbid - UTI round 3 should come, he should be circumcised. For now, all's good and we continue to pray for his health and total healing. We love you Akii.
