A real Prince!

It has been on the headlines, that the Prince Henry, the handsome son of the beautiful late Princess Diana has been spotted in - Dumanjug, the humble little town in Cebu and our family's hometown.

Even if the news did not have the confirmation from the government or the airport or even from the consul of UK in Cebu (saying she should be the first to know), the people who have witnessed the prince in action, like the Mayor and schoolteachers and even I for one believed that he is in the flesh doing his humble humanitarian act.

It is a bit of a pity when people doubt an act of sincerity if it has nothing to do with self-marketing or any big time sponsored "act of kindness". That prince did not want any of the welcoming fireworks, hungry media, or any special treatment just because he is a royal personality. He just wants to help and make a difference to the town's little school.

A real prince. That's what I think.

summer school

Zaiid doing an activity for his evaluation.

My 2.9yo is ready for his first summer school at Children's Paradise Montessori School. A homey, fresh school just 5minutes away from home. I can sense that he likes the environment. The teacher evaluated that he is ready for Pre-School (ages 3 - 6). We can't wait to start!

ZAIIIIIIDDD!!!

I was gone for 5minutes and this is what I found! Ohmygulaaay Zaiid!!! In 2 years time, I'd bet he wants to have a blog too.

When I'm down I shop.

Not really my motto in life. It's just an appropriate phrase for me today :P

I found my first - and already my favourite! - fabric online shop called Bee Square Fabrics. I had a great time shopping, drooling, and finally deciding what I'd love to have. I can look at them forever.

Thanks to Diane Hoffman for working it out for me. Hooray for freebies! Visit their blog for news and giveaways.

Ang Bugoy*. Bow.

After Akii's poop wash, I brought the little guy back to the room so I can feed him his lunch. But look what I found! I caught Kuya secretly munching his little brother's meal! It was so hilarious with his crazy little grin. He can't help it, he just told me "mama! yumyum!"

I can't go to school. (Not yet.)

After being so high and excited about everything - from finding a school that teaches dressmaking for free, getting the requirements ready, inviting my best friend to join me - I have to postpone the big plan. I still have to give a halt to my dreamy sewing projects. Simply put: I can't focus on my sewing act yet. Time won't let me. At least not in a proper school.

No worries, I'm a fast learner. I'm sure I can catch up 3 years from now. In the meantime, Plan B might just work. That is, I won't go to school which requires half a day of my time everyday but instead, will take my saturday mornings and invite my Manang to come and teach me while the babies are with their grandparents in Opon. Sounds like a plan.

Being a mother is first and foremost being a mother. Not being a creative or a crafter, or being a freelancer, or even being a wife. Being a mother is being a mother - everything else comes in second even if you are itching to becoming... more of being yourself.

But having said that, I realize being who I am to my boys is the greatest accomplishment of being ME has achieved. What can I say, my babies come first.

happy EARTH day!

I couldn't find time to make a new one,
so here's my old (2005) litte gift to you Mother.
So today I'm shouting:

All is full of Love!

I want to go to school!

I can't spill all the details yet but the big news is I might get my sewing act up! Hoping the school will give me the chance to join them even if I'm a week late. I'm all geared up and firing with guts and eagerness.

ordinary miracle

With my 2.9yo and 7mo babies under the PhotoBooth. Just having an ordinary miracle everyday. Missing Papa Goy but really I just can't complain.

We hope to fly back to Dubai by July. We are praying hard that everything will flow according to our plan, with God's grace at hand. We hope to get our yaya with us too so I'll get the best help that I can while I stay-at-home. It's going to be a new adventure and it's going to be tough. But that won't matter because we are a family.

How cool

How cool is a wifi connection at home and blogging with your iPod Touch! :)

you and me

While you are thinking you could be somebody new,
I thought about me being the old me.
If that is a good case, then the stars might shine nonetheless.
But if you can't stay, the moon shall shine anyway.

Every once in a while a small butterfly smiles to us
Saying we're a pair that can never be undone.
Whatever that means to that little creature,
I think it sounded good to the universe.

Look how silly we can be, like loving is a yoga.
I never thought I'd be as old as a turtle,
but still it is the case for my eyes have seen so much.
Yet you remain ageless, and timeless like you can never die.

You are my life like when I think of my life as a doodle.
I can draw things and patterns and the world can guess.
Still I hold that drawing in my heart, owning it because it is of me.
Yet you are yourself, like you are standing on your toes.

spreading love!

One of my best buddies (since high school days) has bloomed into a very fine photographer. A very brave spirit, always wanting to try and pursue her passion - she shares to the world what she sees as something interesting. May they be very personal or the very subtle way of saying "not quite right but here it is".

Two months ago, she started with her Project 365 as a push to go reach for her new found love. As a result? Experimentations and eye-candy pictures. See for yourself.

After a quick afternoon chat, she shares me a new (well it's an old one really) photoshop trick! I can't believe I'm missing this! Thanks fyns for showing me how to do vintage looking photographs. It's the secret of the curves! I usually just go with Levels and Colour Balance and Hue and Saturation. Open a favourite photo, Cmd M (Curves) and adjust the RGB's... tada! There you have it! Here's my own splash of the vintage love...

mishomisho...

When the world sleeps (in our respective time zones) loneliness creeps in. Looking at our dreaming babies and smelling them endlessly, I miss my big baby whale. I miss talking senseless and creative ideas, laughing at our bloopers, looking forward to being together again.

I know you miss us even more.

Don't worry hon, hapit na jud :) Mishomishoo...

my little boss.

He still doesn't want to go to sleep, wants another round of milk and wants a back scratch. He doesn't want me to lie on the bed because he wants to lie down on my lap. He wakes his littlle brother because of his wailing for milk like there's no way he's going to sleep without another round of it. He wants my blanket and calls it a "tapis", requests for his small toy car so he can hold it to sleep. He's almost by a tiny bit off to dreamland... but he heard Dadilo's car had arrived. Now he wants to go out and his sleepiness is nowhere to be found.

He's up, laughing heartily while playing Zuma with his Momila...

From April 19, 2009 till God knows for how long!
Kitakits! :)

happy ME day!

I celebrated my day with my bestfriend, my woman, my kangolkid, Totingbats. Momi and Dadi agreed I should have my "me-day" on my birthday. Read : yes, we will take care of the babies while you go have fun.

First stop, ukay-ukay adventure! Phew! Great kicks, wonder finds. Way better when you're doing it with your best friend.

With a sunblock, a panic-bought bikini, zero towels we head out to the beach! What can we do? The dagat is calling us. You know my best friend, she's a water creature so it's like it's her day too. I'm glad I gave you that tan you are craving for so long.

And the best-est part of my happy ME day, for the first time in my whole 29 years here on earth, I went snorkeling and kayaking! Whohoooooo! I can't wait to do it again :)

thank you momi!

Surprise surprise!

I got these adorable fabrics from my mother for my birthday. Sweet sweet momi, she knows me too well. Thank you momi! Now that I'm all set, I need to bring my little dream of tahi-tahi come true.

the last of twenty-something.

I'm officially at the end of being a twenty-something.
I think I need to have a list of things to do before I reach the big Three-Zero.
Or I think I don't. I just need to be me - MORE. :)

Thank you Universe for giving me another year of being part of your grand story.

*blowing 29 proud candles! whoooo!*

I'm forgetting...

He told the following story about a young couple who had one little boy and a new baby. The little boy wanted to be left alone with the baby, but the parents were afraid. They had heard of jealous children hitting new siblings, and they didn't want the baby hurt.

"No, no," they said. And "Not yet."

And also: "Why do you want to be with him? What are you going to do?"

"Nothing. I just want to be alone with him."

He begged for days. He was so insistent that the parents finally agreed. There was an intercom in the baby's room. They decided that they could listen, and if the baby cried, if the little boy hit the baby, they could rush into the room and snatch the infant up. So, the little boy went in, approached the crib. Alone.

He came up to the newborn baby, and over the intercom they heard him whisper, "Tell me about God. I'm forgetting."

watermelon smiles

We spent our holy week at our province to unwind and be with Super Lolo. Surely, the babies had fun under the sun, splashing cool water and enjoying each other's smiles. Funny how you realize babies grow up so fast then know you're getting older yourself.
