saturday hooray.

Saturday is our official family day. Both my husband and I are off from work and it's our Yaya's dayoff too. Dwynn wakes up early with Zaiid, the biggest sacrifice in the world (hahah ok I'm exagerating!), to make the morning fun with our little boy. From his bath to poop time, from reading books or creating and destroying tower blocks... Thank God for saturdays.

I was at least feeling better today, no fever that is. Cough is getting worse, but I think this is the last phase of this flu. I'm not sure if I can work tomorrow though.

In the meantime, Baby Manghud's all kicks and jabs with a little swimming here and there. I think the little tummy dweller, now at 19weeks, has grown fine inside me. This is us, reading a book together called "What To Expect When You're Expecting". With my first pregnancy, Tschai was kind enough to lend me an older version of the book. Now that I found one myself (and because I'm no longer in Cebu hehe), I hope I can spread the love with this book to a new mother in the future :) Along with this book, I also bought "What To Expect The Toddler Years" for Zaiid's journey. Great read.

Thank God for Saturdays :)

what love does...

Although I'm not in the highest form of high right now due to my flu, Zaiid being Zaiid just makes everything a little better. It's what love does.

In the morning he's all energy from doodling the back of our closet to playing outside with his United Colored Playgroup, he has managed to push my tiredness back and got me up taking his pictures again. I just can't get enough of this growing monster-love.

He has noticed the changes of course. He sleeps with yaya and my sister in our bed for two nights now. In the morning he'd crawl up to my husband and I and make himself comfortable between us and pretends to be sleepy. Or while I'm at rest lying on the sofa, he'd come bringing his book and demands a story. Isn't that sweet? And even if I can't kiss him for now, I steal one or two a day.

I hope this flu leaves now and never come back. I still worry about Baby Manghud...oh I'm sure we'll be fine soon. "What's mama's tummy, Zaiid?" I often ask my boy, 1.10yo. "Eggs!" He'd shout. Hahah so funny!

making things happen

Lately, my husband has been pushing me to follow the goals I want in my life. He thinks I am creatively active inside my head but I need to let these ideas out and breathe life. He thinks now is the best time to make things happen. He believes in me like the way he believes that soon we will have our very own home. Excited as he was, he showed me more options in making them happen.

Thanks for the support hon, I lovelovelove you.

my boys

This is pure bliss. Seeing them wrap around each other's arms in deep slumber. These are the boys that changed my life, making it worth-living, making me feel like I'm the most important human being in the world...

can fever harm my baby?

It started with zaiid, our 1.10yo baby who got a nasty flu last week. the doctor said it was due to weather change. Thankfully, he's at least not getting any fever.

The flu passed on to my husband and then finally to me. I couldn't go to work today because of the fever I got since last night. I was worried I could be hurting Baby Manghud. He was giving out more jabs and kicks these days. Haaay, I hope our little one is ok.

I found this from babycenter:
"
Well, if you have a high fever in the first trimester when the baby is forming, it can cause neural tube defects. After the first trimester, having a fever puts a certain metabolic stress on the baby — you're both burning up calories and oxygen faster, so it's like the baby has a fever too. But it's not dangerous unless the pregnancy is already on the edge. If you have cystic fibrosis or heart disease, for instance, a fever at that point could tip you over into more serious complications. A fever from the flu won't directly hurt your baby after the first trimester, although pregnant women can get very sick from the flu and should be vaccinated against it. But if you're totally healthy, a routine cold with a fever isn't going to have much effect on either you or the baby."

I didn't want to take medicine to relieve my body aches and the fever. I was too scared it might harm my little bump. So we searched the net and found out that it was totally safe to take Paracetamol (Panadol) during pregnancy. I took one tablet about three hours ago and had a good rest. The fever's gone now. I was already up singing with Zaiid "In A Cottage By The Wood" again.

United Colored Neighborhood

After work, I see my babylove munching or wanting to get a toy from one kid, or just running around in his sun-smelly shirt. It makes us happy to see he's getting a "playgroup".

I call them United Colored Neighborhood. THE TROOP: chinese-korean, arab, indian, russian-iraqi, tagalog, bisaya.

Even with Dubai's dullness, we still manage to get the kids out to play. Well, that's thanks to my super friendly hyper yaya who I think is starting a some kind of organization and befriending almost any child she sees. (Ok, I'm kidding about the organization).

More photos in my multiply.
Sorry we need to be contacts to see the photos :)

disco fever

My head hurts and it's throbbing like a disco club. A disco club is never my kind of thing. I hate it when conversations need to be at the top of your lungs, and where lights go red - then yellow - then green - all in neon baby! Then boom! boom! boom! That is how my head feels like. I am so not into the groove. I'm dizzy. lazy. sleeply.
